Political inertia

0 70

The PDP-BJP coalition in Jammu and Kashmir appears to be in a state of inertia the way Kashmir Valley has been boiling for the last one week after a militant’s killing.  There is no government machinery on Ground Zero and it’s a free for all for the ‘Azadi’ groups. One has no reason to suspect the bonafides of Mufti Mohd.Sayeed who was keen to provide a stable and corruption free government when this alliance was formed. Owing to lack of coordination and cooperation between the BJP and the PDP the State has been plagued by what political analysts call administrative inertia and political paralysis. And the separatists and militants have started taking undue advantage of this administrative inertia. There are politicians who believe that the alliance had been forged simply to share power. The State is reeling under an atmosphere of political uncertainty and chaos as there is no sign of basic governance and stability. Local youth are yet again choosing the path of militancy thanks to BJP’s brazen sell-out to the PDP. Whatever may have been the reason for framing the alliance between the two parties that are miles apart in their ideology and political outlook the experiment is yet to bear some positive fruits. In fact people had voted for BJP and the PDP simply to achieve their objective for a change, change for better. But people, especially in the Jammu region, feel disappointed. The prevailing political impasse has brought in an atmosphere of chaos in Jammu and Kashmir.  It looks the coalition has no vision or sense of policy direction to tackle situation developed recently and the pace with which the development has taken place it is no prophecy the fear of returning to nineties cannot be ruled out.
