Cases withdrawn in J-K
Dear Editor,
It is disgusting that on the recommendations of the committee constituted by the J-K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, the government has approved the withdrawal of cases of “stone-throwing” pertaining to the period 2008 to 2014. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, 104 cases registered against 634 persons during the period 2008 to 2009 have been withdrawn. In the Kashmir Valley, no day goes without an incident of attack on our security forces by the hired sympathisers of the external forces. But even then no free hand has been given to the security forces and when they retaliate in self-defence, they are implicated falsely by the State Human Rights Commission. The action will let down the morale of our security forces. The anti-nationals must be dealt with severely. Modi should concentrate on internal problems.
