Tributes paid to Com Dhanwantri

JAMMU: The J and K Freedom Fighters’ Association (JKFFA) in a function held at Bal Niketan, Ved Mandir, here on Wednesday remembered the freedom fighter/Martyr Comrade Dhanwantri on his Martyrdom Day. The function was organised by the JKFFA President Ved Gandotra, where he was the Chief Guest.
Floral tributes were paid to the great freedom fighter of Jammu, Comrade Dhanwantri who worked along with other freedom fighters for the freedom of the mother-land. Candles were lit in the honour of the great Martyr and two minutes silence was observed in his honour. Children of Bal Niketan sang National Anthem while waving National Flags in their hands.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers highlighted the life history of Com. Dhanwantri and his sacrifice for the country.
The members who participated in the function were General Secretary Parbhat Kapahi, Rajinder Singh, Rajiv Mahajan, Gagan Singh, Tej Ram Dogra, Harminder Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Ginny Babber, Pritam Sharma, Devinder Singh, Janmeet Bali and Vipan Bali, Binny Mahajan.
To mark the occasion of 63rd Death Anniversary, Comrade Dhanwantri Manch paid rich tributes to Comrade Dhanwantri at a function organised here.
Comrade Dhanwantri, who gave exemplary sacrifices fighting alongwith Shaheed-e-Aazm Bhagat Singh, Chander Shekhar Azad, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Shiv Verma and others for the freedom of India from the yolk of British Imperialism.
Hari Chand Jalmeria Advocate Converner of the Manch threw light on the life history of Com Dhanwantri.
Jalmeria expressed grave concern over the recent developments in the Valley resulting into loss of lives. He appealed the people of the Valley and rest of the State to maintain peace and do not fall prey to the evil designs of secessionist and fundamentalist forces.
The meeting presided over by Samarjit Singh, was also addressed by Ramankant Singh, Inderjit Khajuria, Udey Chand, Dewan Singh, Kuldip Singh, Padam Singh, Raj Singh, Bansi Lal Sharma Advocate, Arvind Singh Advocate and Krishan Singh Manhas. The meeting resolved to demand of the Govt to open a library on the name of Com Dhanwantri and create his memorial in capital city of Jammu.
