POONCH: Member, J and K Sports Council, Rahil Gupta on Saturday inspected sports stadiums at Poonch and Rajouri.
At Poonch, Rahil Gupta was accompanied by Incharge Manager Nirdosh Sharma and Boxing Coach Mushtaq. Rahil visited the Main Stadium complex and the upcoming Multipurpose Sports Hall.
He said, “The staff at Poonch is doing a good job but there is scope for improvement.
The staff should keep priorities of Sportspersons in mind and should adopt a flexible approach. There is great potential in Poonch and we should try to tap the same.”
On various issues brought forward by staff, he said that he will discuss issues with Secretary Sports Council for early redressal. “With funds to be allocated for development of sports infrastructure, the indoor stadiums will be completed at the earliest in twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch,” added Rahil.
He was accompanied by Incharge Manager Bashir Ahmed during his visit to Rajouri Stadium. Bashir apprised him of various requirements.
He assured that all the issues will be resolved and work will be started soon at Rajouri stadium.
He said “I will take up the matter of Sports Tourism in Rajouri and Poonch with Sports Minister Imran Ansari, who is very particular in promoting sports in Jammu and Kashmir.”
