JAMMU: Third Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Kishore Kumar rejected the bail application of one Rohit Sharma, son of Davinder Kumar Sharma, resident of 28-Rajpura who was booked by the police in alleged rape case.
As per Prosecution case, it is now more than a year that the accused lured the prosecutrix and under false promise of marriage used to exploit her sexually.
Even accused under the said promise of marriage used to call her in his house and used to commit rape on her and due to the said act of accused she had conceived twice and accused had got her abortion
conducted in a private clinic at Toph Sherkhania. It was further alleged that on 12th May 2015, in the afternoon, accused had called her in his home, while he was alone there and had again committed rape on her and threatened her not to come again in his home and also to go away from his life. Accordingly, prosecutrix had lodged complaint on 16th June 2015 in Police Station Bakshi Nagar against the accused and an FIR No. 59/2015 for offences under Sections 376 and 506 RPC came to be registered for the commission of offences under sections 376, 420 and 506 RPC.
After hearing both sides, the court observed that the accused person, resorted to such activities which demean the psychological development of a woman. “The offence/atrocities against the women is gaining momentum because of the liberal attitude of the courts by granting bail in the serious offences committed against the women”, the court further observed. With these observations Court rejected the bail application.
