AKHNOOR : Fifty per cent of the people of Akhnoor are without drinking water for the last 15 days due to burning of electric motor where authorities disown their responsibility.
The areas including Krishana Colony, Geeta colony, Kameshwar Colony, Kameshwar Market, Bhagwati Colony, New Manda and Old Manda have not been supplied drinking water for the last 15 days due to burning of motor in Bazigar Basti, Akhnoor. Neither Mechanical Wing nor the Civil Wing owns responsibility for repair of the motor due to which the people continue to suffer.
The residents who are continuously visiting the authorities for the last 15 days to replace the motor and supply water, have not been given any satisfactory reply and they continue to suffer.
They have appealed to the MLA to take this issue with the concerned department and issue directions for the supply of drinking water to the people at an early date.
Prominent among those present include Sudesh Magotra, Om Parkash, Ashu Manni, Sanjay Thapa, Yog raj Sharma, Joginder Bhagat and Jyoti Parkash.
