JAMMU: Workers of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Mahila Congress (JKPMC), led by its President Indu Pawar, on Tuesday held demonstration Exhibition Ground to protest against huge increase in the prices of essential commodities.
“We have gathered here to draw attention of the BJP led Central Government towards unprecedented rise in the prices of tomatoes, potatoes and pulses across the country including Jammu and Kashmir,” Pawar said.
Pawar lambasted Centre and State Governments for their failure in controlling price of pulses and vegetables which are the items of daily food menu of common man.
She said that pulses are already out of reach of common man and vegetables are also following same trend and if a common man is not able to have square meals a day what will he do with ‘Acche Din’.
Pawar further said inability of government to control prices of daily eatables like pulses, vegetables etc. middle class and poor section of the society are badly affected.
“Modi came to power by assuring ‘Achche Din’ to countrymen. Is it ‘Achche Din’ of Modi when even middle class families can’t afford buying a vegetable and pulses for kitchen?” she quipped.
She further said the rising prices of vegetables are of more concern but a minister of Modi government is claiming there is no inflation.
Suman Ghoudhary Working President Jammu, Vandana Makhnotra, Santosh Sharma, Reeta, Geeta, Sunita Rajput, Sita and Bhupinder Kour also spoke on the occasion.
