DODA: One person died on the spot when the vehicle he was driving skidded off the road and fell from the hill at Khellani Doda, on Monday.
“An Alto 800 bearing registration number JK06-8349 was on its way from Jammu towards Gandoh, when the vehicle reached near Khalleni Morh, perhaps driver lost control on it , the vehicle skidded off the road and fell down, resulting in one person dieing on the spot,” said SHO Doda Uday Wazir.
“After getting information, police immediately rushed to the spot and along with locals rescued the driver from the ill-fated vehicle and shifted him to Distt Hospital Doda, where doctors declared him as brought dead. After completing legal formalities, dead body was handedover to family members for last rites,” SHO added. The deceased has been identified as Hukam Chand (60) son of Badri Nath Resident of Kota, Kharangal Gandoh. Police has registered a case in this regard at Police Station Doda.
