JAMMU: The Jammu Police in its second major achievement has confiscated 4 kg heroin and arrested three interstate drug suppliers. The police in its earlier strike had broken a racket of interstate smugglers and arrested four drug suppliers with 20 kgs of heroin from Narwal area a few days back. The king-pin of the group of drug supplier Shafiq Ahmed was the resident of Tangdhar, district Kupwara.
According to SP South, Sajjad Salaria in the press conference here on Friday, the police nabbed three drug suppliers namely Mir Haider son of Manzoor Shar and Istyaq Hussain Shah son of Nazir Hussain Shah, both residents of Tangdhar, district Kupwara and Altaf Hussain Shah son of Ali Shah resident of Chaterkot, district Kupwara.
Giving details, he said that the police team while checking vehicles on Naka point at Panama Chowk, signaled a Tata Sumo car bearing Regd No JK09A/2557 to stop. During checking the police recovered four packets of heroin, weighing approximately 4 kg which they were carrying for sale in Jammu and Punjab. The police also recovered three mobile phones and a cash amount of Rs 25,000 from the possession of trio. The police also seized the car they were travelling in.
