Unemployed veterinary Doctors Protest (2)JAMMU: Alleging step motherly treatment in the State, unemployed veterinary doctors said that concerned department announced recruitment of mere 24 posts despite that there are more than 1,000 unemployed qualified doctors.
The underdevelopment and underperformance of the departments is because the State is lacking qualified veterinary staff, President, Unemployed Veterinary Doctors Association (UVDA) , Dr Ishfaq Ahmad said adding that there are 2,445 veterinary centres in the State and state have near about 600 veterinary doctors. There are only 60 veterinary doctors in the Sheep Husbandry in Jammu, he said and added with such a less staff how the State is going to be at par with other states. In spite of an increasing demand of veterinary hospitals in the State, government is hardly taking any step to meet it, he told reporters during a protest.
Dr Ishfaq Ahmad appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to increase the number of posts so that unemployed qualified doctors get a job.
