‘215 J&K students of Chandigarh University got jobs in 2015’

JAMMU: Lauding the
academic performance of students from Jammu
and Kashmir, Chandigarh University today said
over 215 of them were
placed with top-notch companies in 2015.
“More than 215 students pursuing engineering, management or hotel management from Jammu and Kashmir have managed to get 295 offer letters from MNCs like Microsoft, IBM, Google, Amazon, Wipro, Cognizant, Bank of America and others during campus placements 2015, which is about 80 per cent higher than placements held in 2014,” Chandigarh University spokesperson Ravi Nandan Sinha told a press conference here.
Chandigarh University, which offers specialised and industry-oriented programs in emerging areas, has formulated a special scholarship for the meritorious students of Jammu and Kashmir so that “they are rewarded for their performance in
university and board examinations and are able to continue their studies and pursue higher education without any hassles”.
There are more than 890 students from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir studying at the varsity currently, Karan Kapoor, Regional Manager and head Jammu Regional Office, Chandigarh University said.
