Scrutiny Committee of Sports Council clears candidates for admission in professional colleges

SRINAGAR: The Scrutiny Committee of Sports Council scrutinised the applications of the applicants seeking grant of sports categories weightage in terms of the Govt order No 808-GAD of 2008 dated 17th June, 2008 along with allied amendments pursuant to the notification issued on the directions of the Board of Professional Entrance Examination.
The Scrutinssy Committee of Sports Council in its meeting at Bakhshi Stadium here recommended grant of sports categories weightage to 14 candidates out of 15 applicants strictly as per the provision mentioned in the above mentioned Govt order.
In its meeting members examined the recommendations of the Sub Scrutiny Committee of Sports Council and criteria in vogue mentioned in the aforesaid order including 1090-GAD of 2008 dated 14th August, 2008 and 733-GAD of 2010 dated 24th June, 2010. The apex committee cleared the eligibility of eight candidates straightway and remaining six candidates have also been awarded sports points in terms of the Govt order subject to the verification of their certificates from their concerned national sports federations/ sponsoring authorities.
One candidate has not been found eligible for grant of sports category weightage due to reason that event played by her is not covered in the rule. The committee recommended that list of eligible and in- eligible candidates may be notified in the print media for transparency and filing of objections if any within a period of one week from the date of the publication of the notice.
