The Bold Voice of J&K

Tread carefully

Dear Editor,
The very survival of Pakistan hinges on its army getting arms and its political leadership getting a pat on its back for buying arms from the willing trading countries. While China is behaving like a dog which will bark at anyone who dares talk against its master, Pakistan is hardly concerned if the dragon eat its own flesh. The Indian leadership has got a pat on its back by “trampling” the dragon through diplomacy and bringing a basketful of fruits from the recent five-country tour of the PM. But we forget, running a marketing campaign and conducting hard diplomacy are two different things and may have long-term consequences. No country would stand by India for nothing, including the US. If our leadership does not understand this, who can stop it from living in a fool’s paradise?
Tek Chand,
Abada Barana (Una)
