House adopts six motions moved by Govt

SRINAGAR: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Law and Justice Abdul Haq on behalf of Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rahman Veeri on Saturday moved six Motions for elections to different committees of the Legislative Assembly.
The minister moved a Motion “that the members of the House do elect in accordance with Rule 344 of the Rules of Procedure and conduct of business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, eleven members to serve on the Committee on Public Accounts for the period ending 31st March, 2017.” Another Motion which the Minister moved was “That the House recommends to the Legislative council to agree to elect according to the principle of proportional representation through single transferable vote, two members from Legislative Council to associate with the Committee on Public Accounts of the House for the period ending 31st March, 2017 and communicate to this House the names of the Members, so elected” and “that the members of the House do elect in accordance with Rule 346 of the Rules of Procedure and conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, eleven members to serve on the Committee on Estimates for the period ending 31st march, 2017.” The minister also moved the Motion “that the House recommends to the Legislative Council to agree to elect according to the principle of proportional representation through single transferable vote, two members from Legislative Council to associate with the Committee on Estimates of the House for the period ending 31st March, 2017 and communicate to this House the names of the members, so elected” and “that the Members of the House do elect in accordance with Rule 349 of the Rules of procedure and conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, eleven members to serve on the Committee on Public Undertakings for the period ending 31st March, 2017.”
Abdul Haq also moved the Motion “That the House recommends to the Legislative Council to agree to elect according to the principle of proportional representation through single transferable vote, two members from Legislative Council to associate with the Committee on Public Undertakings of the House for the period ending 31st March, 2017 and communicate to this House the name of the members, so elected.”
Later these Motions were adopted by the House unanimously.
