KISHTWAR: People held a protest against PHE Deptt for their failure to provide drinking water to the area. The residents of Sarkoot area of Kishtwar Distt staged protest against acute scarcity of drinking water in their area and raise slogans against PHE Department for their failure to mitigate the requirement of the people. The agitating people block road for hours near Sarkoot Chowk in support of their demand.
The residents alleged that water supply lines were being diverted in order to provide undue benefit to politically sound people. They demanded water supply as soon as earliest otherwise they have no other option but to start series of protest at Tehsil and Distt Level. They also demanded that Minister of State Sunil Sharma is also from the same area and he should addressed the water scarcity issue and should provide adequate drinking water to the general public.
