AKHNOOR: Singh Baba Talab Club on Saturday qualified for the semifinals after they registered an impressive 74 runs win against Rajouri Cricket Club in the Eighth Pawan Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament being held under the banner of Singh Cricket Club, here. Batting first, Singh Baba set a big target of 213 runs for eight wickets in today’s second quarterfinal. Binny remained top scorer with 40-ball 76 runs while Ankush contributed 21-ball 42 and Kavi was other batsman to play valuable innings (25 off 11). For Rajouri Club, Gurnam Singh emerged as most successful bowler with four wickets. Kapil, Jubair, Sachin and Rashpal shared apiece each.
In reply, Rajouri Club was bundled out for 138 runs in 17.3 overs despite superb 30-ball 54 runs innings from Irfan. Rizwan and Gurnam added 29 and 17 runs respectively. Happy, Lablu and Binny bowled brilliant spell for Singh Baba taking away three wickets each.
Binny, who played superb innings with both bat and ball, was obvious choice for the Man of the Match title. Dayal Singh and Vikas Bali were Umpires while Ashwani Mangotra was Scorer in today’s match.
