SRINAGAR: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq, on Monday said the State Government is ready to pardon the youth who have been booked in cases of unrest, if they shun the path of violence and live normal lives. The minister, however, made it clear that the amnesty won’t be for such youth who are booked in heinous crimes and those who are habitual offenders.
Haq said the government would consider such cases on merit and all such youth, booked in such circumstances both in Kashmir and Jammu divisions, would be given an opportunity to become peace loving citizens and contribute towards the development of the State.Naresh Gupta and Sofi Yousuf raised supplementaries to the main question.
