JAMMU: Kanyala Cricket Club-A on Monday lifted the Kanyala Cricket Tournament beating Kanyala Club-B by a huge margin of 95 runs in the final played at Kanyala in Tehsil Jandrah of Jammu District.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Kanyala Cricket Club- B opted to field. Batting first, Kanyala Club A made 167 runs in given 15 overs. In reply, Kanyala Club B could make only 72 runs to lose the game by a big margin of 95 runs.
For his brilliant batting for the winning team, making 87 runs, Ganesh Sharma was adjudged Man of the Match while Man of the Series trophy went to Deepak Sharma.
In the final and prize distribution function, senior Congress leader, Rakesh Wazir was Chief Guest, who presented the winning team a cash prize of Rs 11,000.
In all, 16 teams took
part in this month-long
tournament representing clubs from Udhampur, Dansal, Jandrah, Tikri, Jhajjar Kotli, Kathar, Surinsar and Ponthel.
The event was held under the overall supervision of Karan Dutt, Shiv Lal Dhingra, Hitanshu Jamwal, Sunil Kumar, Hardev Singh Jamwal, Manjit Kumar, Purshottam Dutt and Romesh Lal.
