Bali for monitoring healthcare, sanitation services in GMC, SS Hospital

JAMMU: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat paid a surprise visit to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Jammu this evening to take stock of the functioning of the institution. The minister went round several units of the institution, including emergency, general wards, toilets, parking place and obtained first hand appraisal of the activities.He also reviewed the status of instructions which he had issued immediately after taking over as Health Minister to the management for creating various facilities for the patients/attendants in the premises of the hospital.
During the course of his visit, the minister interacted with the patients, attendants and enquired about the facilities being extended to them in the hospital.
Reiterating his earlier instructions, he directed the hospital administration to pay focused attention to the overall welfare of the patients and provide them all possible facilities during their stay in the hospital.
He directed for regularly monitoring the functioning of the emergency ward, inquiry counter set up for the facilitation of patients, sanitation activities in and around the hospital premises, particularly in toilets, regular supply of water and electricity. He directed the Principal and Medical Superintendents of GMC and Super Specialty Hospital to personally monitor the essential services like adequate supply of water and electricity, especially during the summer months, and make necessary arrangements for meeting the exigency so that the patient care does not suffer.
