JAMMU: In order to maintain peace and public order a total number of 133 persons have been detained during 2015 under the provision of Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act, 1978 and the Jammu and Kashmir Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act, 1988. Giving a written reply in response to a question of senior NC legislator and former speaker Mohd Akbar Lone Chief Minister said Out of 133 detainees 80 persons were released and 53 are still under detention.
She said 50 persons are lodged in different jails of state while 3 persons are lodged in jails outside the state.
