Summer Camp culminates at DPS Jammu

JAMMU: To give boost to the inner talent of the young children, Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu organised a fortnight long Summer Camp which came to its culmination on Friday.
The Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra, was the Chief Guest who inaugurated ‘Kindness Wall’ initiated
by Prayas Club and Kriti-2016, an Art Exhibition put up the students of Art and Craft Club.
The purpose of the former was to create a space for charity for the needy while in the latter, the children exhibited different skills marking the exceptional creativity of learners.
The closing ceremony began with the welcome of the guests, which was followed by the outstanding performances which spell bound the audiences.
To showcase the debating skills of the speakers, a panel discussion was organised on the topic ‘Should children below 14 years be allowed to access face book or social sites’. Special literacy classes for slum children were organised by Prayas Club. Around 45 children from nearby slum areas were not only educated but were also involved in activities, such as pottery, drawing, dance and music etc.
The captivating performance of the young learners varied in the age groups of 5 to 14 years on the final day, stole everyone’s heart. Principal Ruchi Chabra congratulated all campers, coaches, trainers and expert faculty members for successful completion of the camp. She appreciated the remarkable performance of all clubs and wished staff and
students happy vacations. Headmistress Meenu Gupta and Administrative Staff Malhotra, Gupta, Karandeep Singh and Jamwal also
graced the occasion with their presence. M.K Ajatshatru Singh, President RCT, Ritu Singh, PVC of the School
and S.S Sodhi, Director of
the School also congratulated the campers and wished
them a happy and safe
vacation ahead.
