RAJOURI: Ganga Dashera was celebrated with religious fervour at SVS Ashram in Rajouri town on Tuesday. Every year Ganga Dashera is celebrated here at SVS Ashram in which thousands of devotees from across the country participate in this religious ceremony. This day is celebrated as a ‘Nirvana Divas’ of Brahmleen Guru Gang Devji Maharaj under the presidentship of Shri Shri 1008 Rajguru Mahamandleshwar Shri Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati ji Maharaj.
Speaking on the occasion, Swamiji Maharaj said that the contributions of Shri Guru Gang Devji Maharaj in spreading knowledge by giving education to everyone across every nook and corner of the country cannot be compared and we are following their path.Guruji always believed that, “Ignorance can be killed only by Knowledge”.And the establishment of various educational institutions by Shri Swami ji Maharaj is one such step to carry forward their (Guruji) mission by giving education to everyone.
The concluding function started with Sant Sammelan in which large number of saints and Mahamandleshwars of different Aakharas, came from different parts of the country, participated and gave their valuable thoughts on different religious aspects of life. Mahamandleshwar Vijoga Nand from Gujarat, Mahamandleshwar Diya Nand from Jammu, Mahamandleshwar Davindranand Maharaj from Jalandhar, Parbhodanand Maharaj from Haridwar and Anand Swaroop were some of them who gave religious sermon and also threw light on the life of Guru Gang Devji Maharaj.
During the entire function, Pt. Satnarayanji from Ujain (MP) mesmerised the gathering by chanting beautiful Bhajans and Kirtan.
On 14th June Chapan Bhog was served followed by speeches delivered by different dignitaries from local administration and heads of different organisations. In the end Langer was organised in the Ashram in which approximately 350 Sadus took Parshad also large number of locals around 5,000 from the nook and corner of the vicinity took part in it.The prominent personalities who were present on the occasion included Kuldeep Raj Gupta, MOS and Vice Chairman, Pahari Advisory Board, Vibodh Gupta, MLC, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Ex.MoS for Health, Pt. Ashwani Sharma, senior member, Ashram Committee, Subash Sharma (Retd. ADDC), Shashi Sharma, Atul Sharma, Sahil Sharma, Yogesh Sharma, Sarpanch, Dr. Poonam and Ashok Kumar Sharma, Ex.MLA / MLC .
