HIRANAGAR: National Conference Women Wing on Tuesday held a meeting under the chairmanship of its Provincial President Satwant Kaur Dogra at Koota in Hiranagar Tehsil. The meeting was organised by Provincial Vice President Soma Devi. The Women Wing President was accompanied by Provincial Secretaries Veena Oberai and Manveer Kaur. During interaction, people apprised Satwant Kaur Dogra about various problems being faced by them including erratic power cuts, water crises, rise in price of essential commodities and non availability of ration.
Addressing the gathering, Women Wing Chief Satwant Kaur Dogra flayed the government for its anti-people policies and said “government has failed on all fronts to mitigate the problems of people. The unjustified and long power cuts across Jammu province are unacceptable and are a matter of shame for the government. It is shocking that the people are being subjected to torture in the scorching heat for no faults of theirs and the government appears unconcerned. Apart from power cuts, the entire Jammu province is facing heavy voltage fluctuations resulting in massive damage to electronic gadgets”.
Criticising the government for implementing NFSA, Satwant said that this Act can’t provide two square meals for a family even for 12 days and by not rescinding the Act, the government is forcing the people to starve. She added that BJP-PDP Government is paying no heed to public woes.
