JAMMU: The State Government on Monday issued a circular binding upon the Head of Departments (HoDs) in Government Medical Colleges and Government Dental Colleges and the Associated Hospitals of the State not to indulge in private practice.
“It is reiterated that this government order 02 HME OF 2016 dated June 13, 20-16 needs to be complied with in its true letter and spirit,” the circular adds.
“The Government shall be ensuring strict monitoring of the compliance of this government order and in this regard, if any doctor concerned, as per the ibid Government Order, is found indulging in private practice, strict disciplinary action shall be taken against the concerned,” the circular adds.

100 docs terminated; probe against 37
SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat on Monday informed that doctors who are found unauthorised absent from duties are being terminated by the Government after following due procedure under the article 128 of J&K Civil Services Regulations (CSR).
Replying to a question of Mohammad Khursheed Alam in the Legislative Council, the minister said that presently no doctor is on any long leave, adding that three doctors are on sanctioned duty leave for undergoing P.G courses outside the State. Bali Bhagat also said that notices were served to 137 doctors found unauthorized absent, of which 100 doctors were terminated from services and the cases of the rest 37 are under examination.
