AKHNOOR: A summer camp was organised for the children of army personnel of Akhnoor Garrison from 4th to 13th June 16. The aim of camp was to mould children into more responsible, conscious and motivated citizens of tomorrow, foster spirit of camaraderie, develop flair for outdoor life and increase their level of confidence.
A number of exciting activities were conducted for the children of age group between six yrs to 18 yrs to include air pistol firing, rock climbing, go karting, martial art, tennis, badminton, basketball, arts and craft, dance, music, tree plantation, yoga, weapon and equipment display, tank ride, visit to historical places, classes and lectures on First Aid, Public Speaking, Social Etiquettes, Health and Nutrition etc.
The camp culminated with a vibrant cultural programme organised by the children, wherein they showcased various activities conducted during the camp and displayed their proficiency attained in the process.
The programme was graced by the presence of Chairperson, Family Welfare Organisation, Crossed Swords Division. She praised the level of interest shown by the children while participating in various activities conducted during the camp.
