JAMMU: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) on Friday started Jan Andolan (indefinite massive protest) against PHE and PDD ministries for scarcity of drinking water and unscheduled power cuts in Jammu Division and against the central government for refusal of return of power projects to JK state.
Addressing the protesters Sunil Dimple alleged total failure of the PDD and PHE ministries. He said people are facing 10 to 12 hours power cuts daily in 43 degree temperature.
He said in spite of bold assurances announced by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh that twenty 24 hours uninterrupted power supply will be made available to the people in the high-level meeting held on Power and water, nothing happened on the ground in improvement of power curtailments and water supply.
Dimple alleged Jammu people are facing long duration power cuts and all the Ministers, MLA with their families are enjoying cool breeze in Kashmir Valley and drinking the Chashma Shahi water when the whole Jammu is burning.
Coming down heavily on the Central BJP government Dimple said that refusal to return the power projects to the J&K state and refusal to increase the power share to J&K state from 12% to 25 % as per the agenda of BJP-PDP alliance has rubbed salt on the wounds of the people of the state.
Dimple appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to come out of the alliance with BJP as Centre has refused to return the power
