Mr J&K Contest: Bhalla calls youth to say no to drugs, stay healthy

JAMMU: In run-up to Mr J&K Contest, which is going to be held at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, on 11th June under the aegis of Body Building Association, J and K (BBAJK), weighing of participants to place them in different weight categories for the event was held here today, followed by a rally against the spread and use of drugs.
Over 150 body builders took part in the weighing event that was held at International Gym, Rehari. This year’s theme of competition is ‘Say no to drugs, stay healthy’.
After the weighing event, the participants and organisers assembled at Bahu Plaza in the evening from where they moved towards the nearby Trikuta Nagar Park in the form of a rally.
In the park a meeting was held which was chaired by Chief Patron and Former Minister Raman Bhalla and attended by General Secretary BBAJK Rajesh Dutta, Vice Presidents Mahesh Sharma, B.S Tirthi and Bharat Bhushan and Secretary Naresh Gupta.
Bhalla appreciated the organizers for spreading the message in the society against the use of drugs. He called on the youth to say no to drugs and stay healthy.
Rajesh Dutta said apart from some noted J and K personalities, Arjuna Awardee and Padam Shree Prem Chand Degra of Hoshiarpur, Punjab, had also given his consent to grace the occasion.
Mahesh also emphasised the need for a drug-free society. “To make our society free of drugs, all of us should join hands to work against its spread,” he said.
