Religious congregations, Chabeels mark Gurpurab of Guru Arjun Dev

JAMMU: The Shahidi Gurpurab of Guru Arjun Dev Ji was celebrated in the Jammu District Gurdwaras with great reverence, zeal and spirit.
The main function was organized at Gurdwara Sant Mela Singh Ji Technical Ashram, Digiana Jammu under the aegis of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch.
After completion of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Ragi Jathas including Bhai Jasbir Singh from Paounta Sahib, Bhai Parvinder Singh and other local Jathas recited Gurbani Kirtan. Giani Kingpal Singh religious preacher and Head Granthi Gurdwara Alamgir Ludhiana Punjab, Swaran Singh Khalsa, threw light on the contributions of 5th Guru towards the Sikh Panth and finally his sacrifice for the cause of social justice.
Others who spoke on the occasion include former Minister Rangeel Singh, former Minister Raman Bhalla, and former President Gurdwara Parbandhak Board S.S Wazir.
Meanwhile, Shahidi Diwas Samagam of Guru Arjun Devji was celebrated at Gurdwara Domana Jammu under the guidance of Sant Tejwant Singh Chief Patron Dera Sant Pura Danna (Muzaffarabad) with zeal and spirit.
The eminent Ragi Bhai Gurpreet Singh ( Shimla Wale) recited Gurbani Kirtan and Dhadi Jatha of Amrik Singh from Pathankot narrated the sacrifice of Guru Arjun Devji . The speakers narrated in detail the atrocities faced by Guru Ji with his recitation ‘Tera Kiya Meetha Lage’. Sant Tejwant Singh Ji also addressed the Sangat and said that it was the devotion of Sangat towards Guru Ji who participated in this scorching sun.
Meanwhile, Gurpurab was also celebrated in Gurdwara Singh Sabha Granda Quila Darhal in which local Ragi Jatha and Dhadi Jatha from Jallandhar, Punjab recited Kirtan and history of Guru Sahib.
To mark the occasion at several place Chabeels were organized wherein sweetened water were served among the people.
Similarly, a Chabeel was organised in Rehari Colony by the shopkeepers of the area to mark the Gurpurab of Guru Arjun Dev Ji.
District Red Cross Society, Jammu, organised a camp at Jewel Chowk Jammu in collaboration with Management of the Hot Millions Hotel wherein local public of the area, passers were served sweetened water.
The Chabeel was organised under the guidance of Suresh Sharma Executive Secretary, District Red Cross Society, Jammu.
Pawan Kumar Sharma, Owner Hot Million, Jugal Mahajan, Yash Paul Yash and Bhupesh were also present.
