SRINAGAR: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq on Tuesday said that presently there are 3 companies of IRP 5th battalion deployed in Kishtwar to maintain law and order and static guard duties. The minister was replying, on behalf of Home Minister, to a question of Firdous Ahmad Tak in the Legislative Council. He said like other districts, the Kishtwar District requires adequate police personnel for maintenance of law and order and other policing duties. He informed that 212 police personnel have been transferred to Kishtwar and 272 police personnel have been transferred out of district during the last one year.
