JAMMU: Some miscreants on late Saturday night attacked MLA RS Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat and damaged his vehicle by pelting stones.
According to reports, on the intervening night of 4th/5th June, when he reached Simbal Link Road a group of seven to eight Sikh youths waved MLA to stop the car which he was driving. Seeing the Sikh youth, he slowed down the car when some miscreants started pelting stones result in damaging the vehicle.
On seeing the situation, the MLA left the spot and registered a complaint at Police Post Kullian.
Pertinent to mention here that, the MLA had received earlier two threatening letters under letter head ‘Khalisthan Zindabad Force (KZF)’. The first letter was received by MLA just after winning the elections and the second one recently one and half month ago.
When contacted he confirmed that letters were sent by KZF Chief, Ranjit Singh Neeta, who warned MLA to desist from visiting the Sikhs residing in area like Simbal camp and threatened him to stop propaganda highlighting BJP policies.
He mentioned that he also informed IGP Danesh Rana and apprised him about the incident.
SHO Miran Sahib Police Station, Hilal Azhar said that a case has been registered and investigations have begun.
