JAMMU: President of All J and K Woods Suppliers Union Gulzar Ahmad expressed gratitude to the High Court of J and K for mitigating the sufferings being faced by the farmers and restricting their harassment besides eradicating corruption from Forest Department.
Addressing media persons here on Friday, Gulzar Ahmad further said that the farmers were required to obtain Form No 25 for which the farmers had to pay huge amounts to the officers concerned as bribe.
This money directly went to the pocket of the officers and not in the government treasuries, he said adding that only blue eyed persons were benefited and the poor farmers remained deprived of the benefits and the allegations of thefts were being levelled against the farmers.
He asserted said that after the Court orders in case any officer harasses the farmers he will be answerable before the law.
He appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that still wood is being exported from other parts which has put the State economy to loss adding in order to get undue benefits the wood/timber is being declared unusable and has sought action against such officers for ends of justice for the poor farmers.
During the press conference, Gulzar was flanked by Narotam Dutt Sharma, Basher Ahmad Malik and Shokat Ali.
