POONCH : A protest was held by the residents of Poonch against the Municipal Committee for poor sanitation at important places like bus stand area.
Yugal Kishore Sharma who led the protest said that the entire bus stand area is stinking because of heaps of stinking garbage lying all over spreading foul smell.
He said that it is an open invitation to an epidemic in the town.
He further said that the entire environment is polluted with this foul smell and the area is adjoining to the holly place of Dashnami Akhara.
He added that one hand Prime Minister is making all out efforts for ‘Swachh Bharat’ and have issued directions to the concerned authorities to ensure cleanliness but on the other hand the condition of Poonch city is going from bad to worse.
The residents appealed to the District Development Commissioner Poonch to conduct a tour of this area and issue suitable instructions to the municipal authorities to shift the stinking garbage and ensure proper sanitation. Prominent among others present include Romesh Sharma, Pappi, Paramjit Verma, Arun Sharma, Gurjot Singh Sidhu, Jatin Sharma, Kapil Verma, Sumit Sharma, Sweet Dutta and Abnish Dutta.
