SRINAGAR: In response to question of MLC Firdous Tak, Government informed that tenders have been floated for extraction of world famous Sapphire from Padder mines of Kishtwar.
The House was informed that Government has generated revenue of around Rs 4 crore in last ten years by extracting small quantity of Sapphire from the mine. Government also assured that steps were being taken to prevent illegal mining in the area.
