CHENANI: State President, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, Balwant Singh Mankotia on Tuesday attended the Jughdhar Mela in Tehsil Chenani of Udhampur District.

Speaking on the occasion, Mankotia blamed the State Government for ignoring Jughdhar area which had a vast tourism potential to attract domestic tourists from all across the country who come to Jammu to pay obeisance at the cave of Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra.
He said that the place was blessed with a divine and mesmerising beauty like Sanasar, Patnitop or Pahalgam but the lack of civic amenities besides proper road connectivity had put the destination out of the reach of the tourists.
He expressed his dismay over the fate of Chenani to Tandar Road under PMGSY scheme which was sanctioned one decade ago. He said that if proper road was in place, it would have taken only 2-3 hours to reach Jughdhar on foot.
Mankotia demanded early completion of the ongoing work on the aforesaid road besides a 5 Km road stretch from Tandar to Jughdhar. Others who spoke on the occasion included DySP Vinod Sharma, Dhani Ram Atri, Advocate Naresh Kumar Bhagat, Baldev Singh, Dev Raj, Girdhari Lal, Puran Lal and Surishta Devi.
