SRINAGAR: The Government has projected an amount of Rs 4000 crore under PM’s package programme for setting up of two AIIMS, one each in Kashmir and Jammu divisions.
The Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bhali Bhagat, informed this while replying to a question of Surinder Mohan Ambardar in the Legislative Council on Monday.
The minister informed that 231 acres of land at Samba in Jammu division and 222 acres at Awantipora in Kashmir division has been identified for the purpose. The inspection of these two sites has also been conducted by the central teams, constituted by the Government of India for the purpose, he added. Naresh Gupta, Firdous Tak, Ajatshatru Singh, and Shehnaz Ganaie raised the supplementaries to the main question.
