Challan against 13 in illegal appointments’ case

SRINAGAR: Vigilance Organisation Kashmir on Friday presented Challan in terms of Section 173 Cr. P.C before the Anti-Corruption Court, Baramulla in Case FIR No. 29/2010 under Section 5(1) (d) 5(2) of Jammu and Kashmir Prevention of Corruption Act Samvat 2006 read with Section 120-B RPC pertaining to illegal appointments made in MC Handwara by then President and Executive Officer MC Handwara during the period 2007-09 in conspiracy with other accused. The Challan was however submitted after obtaining proper sanction for launching prosecution from the competent authority vide Government Order No.3570-HUD of 2016 dated 4th March 2016 against 13 in-service/retired accused Government public servants and beneficiaries.
The accused public servants and beneficiaries include Masroor Ahmad Banday, resident of Banday Mohalla Handwara the then President Municipal Committee Handwara (now retired), Abdul Rashid Dar, resident of Handwara the then Executive Officer Municipal Committee Handwara (retired), Mohd Subhan Malik, resident of Rigipora Kupwara, the then Executive Officer Municipal Committee Kupwara (retired), Zahoor Ahmad Dar, resident of Hajin Bandipora Cashier-cum-clerk Municipal Committee Handwara, Shaista Amin, resident of Banday Mohalla Handwara (Beneficiary), Showket Ahmad Banday, resident of Banday Mohalla Handwara (Beneficiary), Imran Rashid Dar, resident of Handwara (Beneficiary), Umar Rashid Dar, resident of Handwara (Beneficiary), Altaf Ahmad Bhat, resident of Dadipora (Beneficiary), Mohd Sultan Bhat, resident of Gooripora (Beneficiary), Saleem Akbar Banday, resident of Banday Mohalla Handwara (Beneficiary), Javid Ahmad Teeli, resident of Hajin (Beneficiary), and Akeel Anwar Malik, resident of Rigipora Kupwara (Beneficiary).
