Chandigarh:- Several youths in Punjab are campaigning for state Congress chief Amarinder Singh as “ambassadors and agents of change”.
In an event organised by poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s I-PAC (Indian Political Action Committee), these young campaigners, popularly called ‘College Captains’ and ‘City Captains’, will meet Amarinder here on May 29, a Congress spokesperson said today.
Kishor’s team is working for Congress in Punjab where elections are scheduled early next year.
“This army of more than a thousand youngsters from 22 districts across Punjab are not only excited to meet the Captain, but will also discuss issues concerning youth and seek his advice,” he said.
Team I-PAC had reached out to various colleges across the state and engaged these institutes and city captains who wanted to be a part of Amarinder s campaign and initiatives to bring back the “heydays” of Punjab, he said.
“The college and city captains will be a part of social events in their districts and also of Amarinder s digital army,” the spokesperson said.
