JAMMU: The Excise sleuths of Kathua Excise Range along with the Excise Eradication Wing Jammu on Monday conducted raids in District Kathua and destroyed 1,400 Kg Lahan, and 111 bottles and 333 pouches of illicit liquor prepared from Lahan.
The series of raids were conducted in villages Kokhyal, Jeerai, Chabachak, Sunjwan, Sharmaat and adjoining areas in district Kathua under the command of ETO, Kathua Excise Range, Sandeep Gupta, and ETO Eradication, Jammu Suresh Sharma.
A woman namely Gudoo, wife of Om Prakash was arrested by the raiding team under J&K Excise Act, 1958. “The Department has initiated multi-pronged strategy to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liqour. Inspection teams have been activated and there shall be no laxity for those who violate the law”, handout of department stated.
