Power projects can’t be returned to J&K: Jitendra
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh on Sunday clarified that the centrally operated power projects in J and K will not be returned to the State.
His reaction came when asked about Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu’s saying we are negotiating for transfer of power project. Singh quipped with whom the State Government is negotiating the transfer.
He was buoyed over BJP’s Assam victory. The Union Minister said that BJP has made major inroads in north-east within a year riding on the agenda of governance and development.
“Within one year BJP has made major inroads in north-east. Now we are in power in three states. One year ago we had no presence in these areas,” Singh said during his visit to Jammu to lay the foundation of a bridge on Ujh River in Kathua District.
“BJP scored victory in Assam on Wednesday, and on 24 May, CM candidate Sarbananda Sonowal is going take oath,” Singh said.
The Union minister said, “In Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland we are already in the coalition (government). In that way, in three out of 7 NE states, we are in the power.”
Singh said, “people have reiterated their faith in the leadership of Narendra Modi and youth of the country have begun to realise that their future is secure under the Modi government.
“They have understood if they have a government in the state which will work in close coordination with the Government at the Centre, it will serve their interests better”.
He said the recent success in north-east has vindicated that Modi has emerged as a binding force in entire country from Assam to Maharashtra and from Jammu and Kashmir to Tamil Nadu.
BJP, which is a nationalist party has increased its foot print across the country after the recent poll results and Congress’ influence has shrunk. BJP has a pan-India presence now, he said.
