JAMMU: Several organizations working for the cause of displaced Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) on Saturday expressed their resentment against PDP Party Spokesman and Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar for his remarks on the proposed separate colony for KPs in Valley.
Democratic Pannun Kashmir (DPK) Convenor Ravinder Jalali lambasted Naeem for his statement on the proposed separate colony for KPs. Addressing a meeting of DPK members, he said that the entire statement is deliberate, malicious and to mislead the people on the settlement of KPs in valley. “The statement of the minister speaks of the mindset of the PDP and the Government”, he added.
Meanwhile, taking a strong note of the issue, President All Samaj Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) Advocate Ravinder Raina advised the incumbent Government not to play with the sentiments of Kashmir Pandits. He said that KPs will never allow BJP to play on the tunes of PDP and play with the sentiments of the displaced KP community.
Meanwhile, All Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AMCCC) staged a protest against Naeem Akhtar for his stance on their return to Valley.
The members of AMCCC claimed that they are real stakeholders of Kashmir and no one can deprive them of this right. They said that Government is clandestinely supporting Hurriyat’s move against the return of KPs to Valley and National Conference and Congress are the B-Team of APHC.
Meanwhile, KP Sabha in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its president K.K Khosa expressed concern over the abrupt volte-face by the State Government over the issue of return of the KPs in separate townships.
A. K. Braroo, Ashwani Koul, S.L Bhagati, G. J. Kampasi, Ashok Khar, B. L. Tickoo, Subash Dhar, J.L. Zutshi, Dr. Usha Tickoo and Dr. Anupama Koul were present.
Meanwhile, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) Chief Kundan Kashmiri has said that the BJP Government at the state and center is on test, both in terms of its competence as well as its intentions, on the issue of consolidated rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits with writ of Indian Constitution in Kashmir Valley.
