KATRA : The Reasi Police produced in the Court of Sub Judge Katra, the Challan in the sensational rape and blind murder case of a nine year old girl whose body was recovered from the bushes near Bus Stand Katra after 15 days.
According to the case a 9 year old girl was kidnapped on the intervening night of 24-25 January, 2016 and her dead body was found in the bushes near New Bus Stand Katra on 8th February, 2016. On this case FIR No. 16/2016 under section 363/376-D/377/420/346/109/302 RPC was registered at Police Station Katra.
Keeping in view the heinous nature of the case SSP Reasi Sujit Kumar constituted an SIT headed by ASP Katra Sumir Kotwal with other officers including SDPO Katra Dr. Ashok Sharma, Sr. PO Katra R.P Singh and SHO Katra Kuldeep Krishan. A manhunt was launched and various suspects were rounded up by the SIT under the close supervision of SSP Reasi.
After hectic efforts police was able to catch one of the suspect namely Pawan Kumar son of Ram Saran resident of Sila, Reasi on 23rd February, 2016. During sustained interrogation Pawan kumar confessed committing the crime besides he also disclosed the names of three other associates who were involved in the murder namely Madan Lal son of Puran Chand resident of Kanjali, Reasi, Rajinder Kumar son of Mohan Lal resident of Gran Morh, Reasi and Parshad Singh alias Parshotam son of Inder Singh resident of Gandhali Panassa, Reasi.
The police raided their various hideouts and after strenuous efforts the remaining three accused were also arrested on 24th February, 2016. The deceased was apparently repeatedly gang raped after being kidnapped and subsequently murdered by the accused persons. A Maruti Alto car used for the commission of the crime was also recovered by the police. The trail of the car used in the commission of crime led the SIT to Himachal Pradesh where another murder case was solved as it was found that Pawan Kumar and Parshad Singh alias Parshotam were also involved in murder of a taxi driver Vijay Kumar son of Shiv Dayal age 28 years resident of W. NO. 03 Gagal Tehsil and District Kangra HP and subsequent theft of the vehicle. The case FIR No. 20/2016 under section 302/382/201/34 IPC Act was registered at Police Station Jawali Tehsil and district Kangra HP.
According to police all the accused persons are hardened/dreaded criminals and have previously also committed many heinous crimes and have remained in jail also. The accused used to operate as a gang for committing crimes and nabbing of all these criminals by police will go a long way in decreasing the crime graph of the area.
The Challan of the case has been produced in the Court of Sub-Judge Katra against Pawan Kumar son of Ram Saran resident of Sila, Reasi, Madan Lal son of Puran Chand resident of Kanjali, Reasi, Rajinder Kumar son of Mohan Lal resident of Gran Morh, Reasi and Parshad Singh alias Parshotam son of Inder Singh resident of Gandhali Panassa, Reasi.
