REASI: Police on Thursday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 27 bovines and arresting a smuggler in Mahore area.
According to a report, a specific information was received at Police Post Dewal that some persons along with bovines are on way from Chana Shikari towards Kashmir via Nikkin Gali on foot without any legal permission and have reached near village Shibrass. On this, a police team from Police Post Dewal led by ASI Abdul Rashid, In-Charge Police Post rushed to the spot and laid a Naka at Gharwas (top of village Shibrass) Tehsil Mahore and rescued 27 bovines from the possession of the accused person. The accused person has been identified as Bagh Hussain son of Bagga resident of Shikari Tehsil Mahore District Reasi. A case vide FIR No. 28/2016 under section 188 RPC was registered at Police Station Mahore.
