KATRA: Wrestler Benia Min of Basantgarh in District Udhampur clinched Fifth Hut-Parthal Kesari Vishal Dangal title. Dangal was organised by Hut- Parthal Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, at Serbad, Katra in District Reasi.
In all 78 bouts were played and in the day long Dangal.
In the main bout, Benia Min outplayed Manna of Chandigarh. Winner Benia was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 17,000 and 5 Kg Desi Ghee while Manna got Rs. 14,000.
The second bout was won by Major of Ludhiana who defeated Ishaq (Lalu) of Bajrangi Akhara. Major was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 9,000 and 5 Kg Desi Ghee while Lalu got Rs. 6,000. Third bout title went to Nisar of Doda who defeated Sintu of Jassa Ram Akhara Delhi.
Joint Secretary, J and K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma, who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Associate Vice President Wrestling Federation of India and President Senior Citizen Welfare Forum Katra was the Chief Guest, who gave away cash prizes to the wrestlers.
DSP Katra Dr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, social activist and wrestling promoter Ram Paul Sharma and Advocate Pawan Dev Singh were Guests of Honour.
Pritam Singh Wazir, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Om Parkash Verma, Sarpanch Ratten Singh, Sarpanch Baldev Singh, Sarpanch Sukh Dev Singh, Contractor Dina Nath, Rajinder Kumar Ramotra and Brij Mohan were among those prominent present.
