UDHAMPUR: Zone Udhampur won under-14 and 17 handball titles in the District level Inter-Zonal tournament for Girls of District Udhampur organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports Udhampur under the supervision of Sudesh Kumar Chalotra DYSSO Udhampur, which concluded here on Tuesday.
In handball, Zone Udhampur defeated Zone Jib by four goals in under-14 and Majalta Zone by six goals in under- 17 category.
Amriti Thakur of National Academy School defeated Sandli Singh of APS Udhampur by 2-1 in under-14 table tennis singles while Madhu Thakur of National Academy Udhampur outplayed Ujala of Government Girls HSS Udhampur by 2-1 in under-17.
In under-17 doubles, Madhu Thakur and Kritika Gupta of National Academy declared winner after defeating Anuradha and Ujala Government Girls HSS Udhampur by 2-1. In under-14 badminton singles, Rashmi of Zone Jib defeated Tanvi of Zone Chenani by 2-0 while Himanshi and Rashmi of Zone Jib defeated Tanvi and Misbah of Zone Chenai by 2-0 in doubles.
Similarly in under-17 singles, Stuti Verma of Zone Udhampur defeated Sabha of Zone Tikri by 2-0 while in doubles Stuti Verma and Parul of Zone Udhampur defeated Sabha and Mashoom of Zone Tikri by 2-0.
In the concluding function, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur Sudesh Kumar Chalotra was the Chief Guest who gave away medals to winner and runner up teams. All the matches were officiated by Ravi Singh Jaswal, Rishi Kumar Sharma, Vikrant Balgotra, Bandana Sharma, Manik Nargotra, Sanjeev Verma, Raman Kumar, Ved parkash, Jaipal Singh, Pushap Kumar, Romesh Chander, Chander Kiran, Ranbir Singh, Vipin Photra and Karun Magotra.
Others present were Ram Lal ZPEO Jib, Santosh Kumari ZPEO Udhampur, Kartar Singh ZPEO Ghordi, Poonam Sharma, Santosh Abrol, Swarndeep Singh Tara, Ajit Singh, Ajay Kumar and Sarabjeet Singh.
