Girls outshine boys in 10th class; bag 332 top slots;Govt schools get just 5 out of 536 positions

JAMMU: Girls have outshined boys by bagging 332 top slots while boys got 204 slots out of 530 top 20 positions in merit 10th class, results of which were declared by Jammu and Kashmir Board of Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday. The 10th class exams in the Jammu Division have registered 61.95 pass percentage.
However, the overall pass percentage of girls (62.99 per cent) is higher than that of boys (61.08 percent), the officials said.
A total of 50,615 students-27,446 boys and 23,169 girls-had appeared in the examination which was held in March this year, out of which 19041 students were not qualified.
The top three positions have been bagged by 25 girls and 15 boys.
Interestingly, the toppers come mostly from private schools. Of the 536 positions, private schools claimed 531 slots while the remaining five went to the government schools, despite having ‘highly qualified’ staff.
Pratikha, Shewta Rana of student of Caramel Convent High School Kunjwani, Tanmay Mahajan of St Mary’s Convent Challan Ramkot, Rupambir Singh of Christ High School Poonch and Ankush Singh of Vijay Higher Secondary School Udhampur have shared the first position with 494 marks (98.80 per cent) out of maximum 500.
The second position has been shared by Rasmeet Kour, St Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Karan Bagh, Garima Badhan and Vidushi Gupta, Caramel Convent High School Kunjwani, Akanshi Gupta, Dreamland Public School Janipur, Mahin Sagotra, St Paul’s Convent High School, Manik Verma Shangrila High School Sarwal, Shivani Saini, Kestrel School Shibu Chak, Kritika Sharma, St Francis Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, Samiksha Sharma, RSJN Higher Secondary School Kathua, Ishneet Kour Ghai, Christ High School Poonch and Karmanya Gupta, National Academy High School Court Road with 493 marks (98.60 per cent).

It was proud privileged of JK Public School Panjtirthi from which ten students made it to merit list. Ten students of JK Public School Panjtirthi including Ruchi Raina, daughter of Subash Chander Raina and Lalita Riana got fourth position with 491 marks (98.20 per cent), Shaghun Gupta, son of Parveen Kumar Gupota and Nirmal Kumari and Rahul Sharma, son of Bipan Kumar and Rita Devi got sixth positions with 489 marks (97.80 per cent), Karan Raj Gupta, son of Raj Kumar Gupta and Sarita Gupta secured ninth position with 486 marks (97.20 per cent), Sehaj Sarin, daughter of Amrit Sarin and Sunita Sarin bagged twelfth position with 483 marks (96.60per cent) and Aayush Sharma, son of Jagdish Chander and Darshana got thirteenth position with 482 marks (96.40 per cent), Shagun Mahajan, daughter of Rajinder Gupta and Neeru Gupta secured fourteenth position with 481 marks (96.20 per cent), Aditi Jamwal, daughter of Ajeet Singh and Salochana Devi and Sayam Gupta, son of Rakesh Gupta and Vandana Gupta, secured fifteenth position with 480 marks (96.00 per cent), Paras Gupta, son of Surinder Kumar and Jyoti Gupta got twentieth position with 475 marks (95.00 per cent).
Talking to STATE TIMES, position holders of JK Public School Panjtirthi, while sharing their success said, “We have not taken coaching from any private tuition centre and it was our own efforts that helped us to understand the concepts better. Apart from hard work, it was the motivation by teaching faculty of the school and support of family that led to our success in board exams. The excellent teaching faculty of the school and our supporting families kindled the required zest and determination into our minds and rest is the history. Regular studies and revision of topics taught everyday in school always helped in strengthening the basic concepts and we thus strongly feel that if you want to succeed in exams then start from the very first day.” They owe their success in board exams to their teachers, school and family.
Ruchi Raina, a proud top position holder in JK Public School Panjtirthi said, “Somewhere in my mind I was aware that I would definitely score good marks and this was possible only because of my school, my parents and my respected teachers. They all really supported me well. My school provided study material, facilities, good and peaceful environment to study. And I really want to thank my Principal Suman Banbah and my respected teachers for their timely guidance and support. Scoring 98 per cent in board exams is a dream come true which is possible because of my school and my hard work. I strongly believe that hard work is the key to success and I would advise the same to all the students.

JK Public School clinches 10 positions
JAMMU: Maintaining its track record of excellence, J K Public School Panjtirthi bagged ten top positions in the 10th class examinations, results of which were declared by Jammu and Kashmir Board of Secondary Education (JKBOSE).
In all, 68 students had appeared in the examination for the session 2015 and the school achieved 100 per cent results. Of these 10 students registered phenomenal success by clinching 10 positions, thus maintaining its academic excellence.
The 10th class result is yet another milestone in the academic odyssey of the school which recorded matching 100 per cent result in 8th class this year. The school was credited with 10 positions in the merit list.
Over the years, J. K Public School Panjtirthi has been making a mark with its students, not only achieving 100 per cent successes but also bagging top slots in the merit lists.
