Nine gamblers arrested, stake money recovered

JAMMU: Police on Wednesday arrested nine gamblers and recovered Rs 35,430 as stake money from the spot.
According to reports, police received an information from reliable sources that gambling is on in the house of one Sanjeev Kumar, son of Bishamber Dass, resident of 292 Hari Singh Nagar Rehari Colony Jammu. On this information, a police team led by SHO Police Station Bakshi Nagar, Inspector Ashwani Sharma and In-charge Police Post Sarwal, SI Kali Charan raided the said premises and arrested persons found involved in gambling in a room of the house and arrested the house owner.
The police team also recovered Rs 35,430 as stake money besides this, 12 mobiles, 5 packets of playing cards, liquor and six disposable glasses etc. were also recovered.
The arrested gamblers have been identified as Sahil Sharma son of Ravinder Kumar, resident of Subash Nagar Jammu, Amit Kumar son of Satpal, resident of H. No. 19 Rehari Colony Jammu, Dikshat Sharma son of Suraj Parkash, resident of H. No. 102 Subash Nagar Jammu, Manminder Singh son of Rajinder Singh, resident of 161 Rehari Colony Jammu, Goutam Gupta son of Kamal Kishore, resident of 402 Rehari Colony Jammu, Kuljeet Singh son of Singh, resident of 302 Rehari Colony Jammu, Anil Gupta son of Krishan Lal, resident of 20 Hari Singh Nagar Jammu, Amit Kumar son of Mohan Lal, resident of H. No. 423 Hari Singh Nagar Rehari Colony Jammu and Vipal son of Darshan Singh, resident of 68 Subash Nagar Jammu.
The overall operation was conducted under the direct supervision of SDPO City West Sugandha Mahajan and In-charge SP City North, Romesh Kotwal, KPS.
