JAMMU: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) expressed concern over the difficulties being faced by the industrialists due to poor quality of land line and mobile services of BSNL in the industrial complex.
In this regard, a meeting of the members of BBIA was held under its President, Lalit Mahajan in which members present in the meeting raised serious concern about the frequent disturbances in the mobile net work due to call dropping, poor maintenance of existing land line services and non-availability of the spare parts in the exchange due to which the Internet service remains affected during the working hours on regular basis.
At present the mobile calls are being fed by the tower located in the Birpur for the half of the industrial complex and in case of any breakdown in the service from the said tower the mobile network remains affected, they added.
“In the present time all the working of the industrial units depends on Internet services and mobile phones but the service of BSNL network is so bad that while discussing important issues on mobile, the signal is disturbed frequently resulting in problems to our member units and some time there is so much distortion that it is impossible to talk with each other. Even the working of the broadband connection for Internet is always a problem in Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex as it is usually not working throughout the day and gets broken due to poor maintenance and non availability of data cards for replacement,” they said.
The members present in the meeting informed the President BBIA that in spite of repeated requests and reminders the department did not take any step to solve the issue which shows casual attitude of the department.
It was further decided in the meeting that if the department does not take an appropriate action to solve the problem immediately all the members of BBIA will surrender their SIM cards to the department and avail the services of the private telecom operators.
BBIA requested the Chief General Manager of BSNL to look into the matter urgently to resolve the issue which will provide relief to the industrial units of Bari Brahmana.
The meeting was attended by Rahul Bansal Senior Vice President BBIA, Varun Singla Vice President, Ajay Langer General Secretary and Viraaj Malhotra Treasurer.
