Pak Rangers return Class 12 student’s body

JAMMU: After waiting for 10 long days the family members of Class 12 student who had allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Chenab river from new Akhnoor bridge on April 28 were handed over his body on Sunday by the Pak Rangers.
The mortal remains of the young student were swept away by the gushing Chenab towards Pakistan and it is on the special request of the BSF Pak rangers carried out the extensive search and recovered the body of the deceased.
According to BSF spokesman, “Neeraj Dogra alias Bony aged 18 years, son of Sham Lal, resident of Nandowal (Channi Mohalla, Pahariwala) Khour, who was a Class 12 student had committed suicide on April 28 by jumping into river Chenab from the new bridge Akhnoor”.
Keeping in view the sentiments of the family members of the deceased, BSF kept constant contact with PAK Rangers made consistent efforts with the Rangers to locate the body.
On Sunday, BSF officers received confirmation from the Rangers regarding recovery of a body, photo and identification marks of the individual were handed to the rangers. Finally, a Commandant level flag meeting was conducted in Pargwal area at 4:00 PM in which the body, after proper identification, was handed over by Pak rangers to the family members in the presence of BSF and Police officials.
