Crackdown on bovine smuggling; 172 animals rescued, 13 arrested, 15 vehicles seized

RAJOURI/NAGROTA: Tightening the noose of bovines smugglers, police on Sunday foiled many bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 172 bovines, arresting 13 smugglers and seizing 15 vehicles during the separate Nakas at Rajouri and Nagrota.
According to a report, Rajouri Police led by SHO Police Station Rajouri Inspector Chaman Gorkha during intervening night of 7th-8th May 2016 on a specific information laid different Nakas at Samsimt, near Darhali Bridge, Chingus etc.
During Naka checking police seized five Tata mobile vehicles (JK11B-4395, JK02AL-1149, JK11A-4962, JK11-6489 and JK02AB-9692) and rescued 25 bovines which were on their way from Rajouri to Srinagar via Thanamndi Mughal Road but bovine smugglers fled away from the spot taking the advantage of darkness.
A case vide FIR Nos. 241/2016,242/2016,243/2016,244/2016 and 245/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Rajouri.
Similarly, SHO Police Station Darhal Inspector Raghubir Sharma during the intervening night of 7th-8th May 2016 on a specific information laid Naka at Rakiban, Darhal. During Naka checking, police seized two Tata mobile (JK02E-6736 and JK11B-1005) and rescued seven bovines by arrested five bovine smugglers namely Babu Hussain son of Kaka resident of Thananamdi, Mohd Anwar son of Abdul Majid, Shabaaz Ahmed son of Ab. Qayoom resident of Badi Darhal, Fazal Rehman son of Mohd Qayoom resident of Hill Tak and Intkhab Ahmed son of Zariet Hussain resident of Bari Darhal.
A case vide FIR No.25/2016 and 26/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Darhal.
Meanwhile, SHO Police Station Sunderbani Inspector Ravinder Singh Parihar during intervening night of 7th -8th May 2016 on a specific information laid Nakas near ITI , Sunderbani. During Naka checking, police seized two Tata mobiles (JK02AP-4403 and JK11B-0516), rescued 10 bovines and arrested three bovine smugglers namely Muneer Hussain son of Badar Din, Mohd Mushtaq son of Munchi Khan and Mohd Azam son of Sakhi Mohd.
A case vide FIR Nos. 27/2016 and 28/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Sunderbani.
Similarly, In-Charge Police Post Lam SI Ashwani Kumar on a specific information laid Nakas at Lam. During Naka checking, police rescued 15 bovines and arrested two bovine smugglers namely Laquit Hussain son of Mir Mohd and Mohd Rafiq son of Noor Mohd resident of Lam.
A case vide FIR Nos. 56 /2016 and 57 /2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Nowshera.
Meanwhile, SHO Police Station Kalakote Inspector Mohd Iqbal on a specific information laid Naka at Fafran Gran Road. During Naka, police rescued 11 bovines, but bovine smugglers on seeing the police party, fled away from the spot. A case vide FIR No.31/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Kalakote.
Meanwhile, 94 bovines were rescued from the clutches of three bovine smugglers namely Mian Zulfkar son of Mian Rafiq resident of Ransoo, Shivkhori, Pouni, Reasi, Tariq Ahmed Bhat son of Gulam Hasan Bhat resident of Malangpura, Awantipora, Pulwama and Mohd. Sadiq son of Saifu resident of Puranputi Landar, Panchari, Udhampur from six trucks (JK14D/0989, JK02BM/8377, JK02AP/7318, JK02AL/7507, JK02AJ/8775 and JK13C/3911) at special Naka near Ban Toll Plaza, NH, Nagrota. Some unidentified smugglers managed to flee from spot. A case vide FIR No. 101/2016 under sections 379/188 RPC was registered.
