Zulfkar flags-off supplies to Ladakh

SRINAGAR: Minister for CAPD, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today flagged-off supplies to the Ladakh region for the year 2016-17 here at the department’s Directorate office. This year the supplies have been sent in advance by one month as the road to Ladakh was thrown open for public on 30th April this year.
About 20 trucks carrying 1800 quintals of flour were dispatched to Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil Districts.
The Director CAPD briefed the Minister that for Leh district 68016 quintals of rice, 53742 quintal flour, 8853 quintal sugar and 2281032 litres of K-oil will be transferred in 13 months, while as for Kargil district 72085 quintals of rice, 54067 quintal flour, 9152 quintal sugar and 2102191 litres of K-oil will be transferred during the same period in about 852 trips.
